Meet The Photographers of The Bay Area,

Southern California + Nevada

Fig + Willow Studios  is located in The Bay Area, Southern California + Nevada. Studio is owned by three beautiful and talented women; Alycia founder and lead photographer, Jennifer lead photographer and Emily lead photographer.

They are describing their biggest priorities as these:

“1: We want you to have a ton of stress-free fun on your wedding day and feel supported and empowered during the wedding planning process. We know how stressful it can be - we’ve been there!

2: We consider our shooting style “laid back luxury”. This means gentle guidance with relaxed and flattering poses so that you not only feel like your best self, but look like your best self too.

3: Your wedding photos should enable you to relive the way you felt. Your wedding photos should transport you back to the nervous jitters of getting ready, walking down the aisle to the love of your life, and the joyousness of partying it up with all your loved ones beside you.  “

Welcome to my blog and thank you very much for your participation. As we all know this year due to pandemic a lot of industries suffered and wedding industry is one of the most affected one. So how did pandemic affect your business?

Are you curious about who took this breathtaking photo?

Meet the photographer, drum rolls please:  Fig + Willow Studios!

Alycia and her team are like magicians who find the perfect location and perfect light for you. They make a lot of trial and error to find best places for you to capture your most beautiful moments.

I had great opportunity to have a little interview with her so let’s get into that!

I lost most of my work for the year, unfortunately. Most of my couples decided to push their weddings to 2021 or 2022. It's been a challenging year, that's for sure! But I've also found some new genres of photography I'm passionate about and have made a lot of new friends and connections this year.

What was your biggest struggle you went through this year?

Probably the loneliness of it all. Being a business owner is already a lonely business but without weddings to meet other vendors at and collaborate with it's been pretty isolating.

Let’s talk about your photography style, as I mentioned above I like the way you catch the light in your photos and the color tones in your photos are so soft and lively. How do you define your photography style?

Our style here at Fig + Willow Studios is bright, joyful, and romantic.

Do you have a perfect customer definition in your mind?

I just love people in love! My ideal customer is anyone who wants to have memories to cherish for their lifetime and loves our work! Cherishing memories over things is a common denominator in all of our clients.

With a lot of options to choose from newly engaged couples often struggle how to choose wedding photographer. What are the advices you can give for future brides while they are booking wedding photographers?

Make sure that you book someone you really feel something for. Not just loving their work but their personality or their brand.

Sometimes I see couples take photographer to where they want to shoot take place. What do you suggest? Do you think photographer or the couple should decide about the place?

Leave that up to your photographer - they will find all the best spots.

In 2020 mostly due to pandemic weddings which didn’t cancel had to go smaller and they eloped in their dream spot, they had ceremonies in their backyards. We saw a lot of casual and cozy events. And people seem to like them; I believe small wedding trend will go on this year too. What do you expect?

Definitely more microweddings - more pared down weddings that are heavy on style and decorations and lacking in people.

Lastly, what do you want to say to newly engaged couples?

Enjoy your engagement! It won't last long and will fly by in the blink of an eye. So enjoy it while it lasts. :)

I hope you enjoy reading our mini interview with Alycia from Fig+Willow Studios. I definetely enjoyed it especially looking at the photos.

Don't forget to check her website and book your spot while still you can!
